Liberty Village Transit Guide
Liberty Village is one of Toronto's most connected neighbourhoods — if you know the system. Here is how to get everywhere you need to go without owning a car.
TTC Streetcar — The 504 King
The 504 King streetcar is your lifeline. It runs along King Street West through the heart of Liberty Village, connecting you to the Financial District, St. Lawrence Market, and the Distillery District to the east, and Roncesvalles and High Park to the west.
Key stops for Liberty Village:
- King & Atlantic Avenue — the main stop, right at the northern edge of the neighbourhood
- King & Strachan Avenue — useful for the eastern side of LV and BMO Field access
Frequency: Every 3-5 minutes during rush hour, every 8-12 minutes off-peak. The King Street Transit Priority Corridor keeps the 504 moving faster than car traffic during weekday commutes.
Fare: $3.35 per ride with PRESTO card. Monthly pass: $156 (unlimited TTC).
Pro tip: The westbound 504 at 5:30 PM is packed. Walk one stop west to Dufferin and board there — you will usually get a seat.
Bike Share Toronto
Liberty Village has 4 Bike Share Toronto stations within a 5-minute walk:
| Station | Location | Bikes Available (typical) |
|---|---|---|
| Liberty St & Hanna Ave | Central LV | 10-15 |
| East Liberty & Pirandello | East LV | 8-12 |
| King St W & Atlantic | North edge | 12-18 |
| Strachan Ave & Sudbury | South LV | 6-10 |
Pricing: $3.25 per 30-minute ride, or $99/year for unlimited 30-minute rides. If you commute to the Financial District (20 minutes by bike), the annual pass pays for itself in under 2 months.
The Martin Goodman Trail is a 10-minute ride south — once you hit the waterfront, you can cycle uninterrupted from Humber Bay to the Beaches.
GO Transit — Regional Connections
Exhibition GO Station is a 15-minute walk south of Liberty Village. From there:
- Lakeshore West line to Burlington, Hamilton, and Niagara Falls
- Lakeshore East line to Whitby, Oshawa, and beyond
Exhibition GO is underserved during off-peak hours — trains are roughly every 30-60 minutes. Check schedules at gotransit.com before heading to the station.
Getting to Pearson Airport (YYZ)
Three options from Liberty Village:
- UP Express — Take the 504 east to Union Station (20 min), then UP Express to Pearson (25 min). Total: ~50 minutes, $12.35 PRESTO fare for UP Express + $3.35 TTC. This is the fastest reliable option.
- TTC + 192 Airport Rocket — 504 east to Bloor-Yonge, subway to Kipling, 192 bus to Pearson. Total: ~75 minutes, $3.35 flat fare. Cheapest option.
- Taxi/Uber — 30-45 minutes depending on traffic, $45-70. The only realistic option if you are catching a 6 AM flight.
Pro tip: For early morning flights, book an Uber the night before. Surge pricing at 4 AM in Liberty Village is usually minimal.
Ontario Line (Coming Soon)
The Ontario Line subway will add a station at Exhibition/King-Liberty, approximately a 10-minute walk from Liberty Village. This will connect directly to Pape, Danforth, and the eastern waterfront — a massive improvement for east-side commutes. Expected completion: late 2020s. See our Ontario Line construction guide for the latest updates.
